The war does not happen on one frontier or on an empty map. Move through time, combine interpretive layers, inspect uncertainty, and ask what any mapped place meant then.
Campaign map, not a legal, navigational, or survey map. Dashed geometry carries lower confidence; faded geometry represents activity completed by the selected date. Select any feature for its method and sources.
Every named spatial feature and event is available here without point selection. Free-coordinate inspection is an optional pointer enhancement and does not expose unique historical records.
Beyond the primary frame
Atlantic, Pacific, and European events remain in the record.
The main map preserves a useful North American and Caribbean scale. Events whose coordinates fall beyond that frame are listed explicitly rather than compressed into a distorted world projection.

Capture and burning at York
American forces capture the colonial capital; looting and burning feed a later retaliation narrative.
Military routes are corridors, not GPS tracks. Blockade polygons describe changing operational pressure, not walls at sea. Homeland regions overlap because lived Indigenous geographies were not nineteenth-century state polygons. Freedom-seeking lines join documented origins and destinations without inventing an unknowable footstep-by-footstep path.
Confidence describes how tightly the cited record fixes the represented location: high for strongly located sites or sequences, medium where the route or area is documented but generalized, and low for broad interpretive envelopes. Precision describes the kind of geometry shown, not survey accuracy. Every feature also carries a date range, construction note, and source trail.
The map favors public archives and public-history institutions. A link supports an interpretation; it does not magically turn a generalized geometry into a surveyed fact.
